Improving Florida student outcomes in reading and math

THE BRIEF The Florida Tutoring Advantage aims to improve outcomes for Florida students in reading and mathematics by leveraging the power of evidence-based, high-impact tutoring through face-to-face, virtual, automated tutoring software and AI enhanced options.

RESEARCH I have driven over 10,000 miles in the US, camping along the way. This gave me a great place to start my research. The audience was primarily older millennial professionals, with a secondary audience of retired Rv’ers. They travel routinely and like to save money so the function of Roam would be perfect.

CONCEPT Roaming free and finding your way. Being open to adventure. The spirit of the road trip. All these things lead to the inspiration and concept for the design.

Branding

VISUALS The branding was designed to feel worn and well-traveled, with dashes to represent the journey and planning. In the mark, there is a tent in the negative space of the compass.

I created icons and illustrations to be used throughout the various pieces. They have a hand-done, imperfect quality, and are all in black charcoal styles to feel like a campfire.

Grids are used to texturize the backgrounds and show the evolving and ever-changing planning that inevitably happens on a road trip.
